The Pathway to Joy Model
Pathway to Joy brings hope and healing to babies, children, teens, and young adults. Our trained staff and caregivers enter the dark places where these kids are abandoned, abused, neglected or exploited namely state hospitals, government placement centers, and poverty-stricken communities throughout Romania.
When babies in our community are abandoned at the local hospital, Pathway to staff are there to provide comfort and protection while these little ones begin their placement journey into government foster homes.
For the thousands of children and teens who are abandoned at government placement centers in our region, Pathway to Joy staff are there to provide essential resources to meet their physical needs, and nurturing counsel to help them thrive and heal from the trauma they have endured.
When kids in government placement centers or foster care turn 18, most of them have no family to turn to for support.
Pathway to Joy is creating the The Success for Life Program with Independent Living Safe Homes to equip young adults to successfully transition to adulthood.
With 65% of Romania’s orphan population coming from Roma (gypsy) communities, Pathway to Joy’s team is there planting churches and setting up feeding and educational programs to help break the cycle of poverty and child abandonment in our county’s most vulnerable communities.
