Support Karen’s Journey to Hope 4 Cancer

In 2021, my world changed when I was diagnosed with kidney cancer. Since then, despite surgery and ongoing treatments, my cancer has progressed to Stage 4—spreading beyond what we had hoped and prayed. This season has been deeply challenging, stretching, and humbling.

Yet each new day has also been another opportunity to trust God, to persevere, and to keep moving forward with hope.

For many years, my husband and I have served as full-time missionaries in Romania through Pathway to Joy Ministries. Our calling has been to share the love of Christ with the Romanian people—especially children living in very difficult circumstances. Even during this health journey, that calling has not changed. We continue to believe deeply in the work God has placed in our hands.

Recently, I was accepted for treatment at Hope4Cancer in Tijuana, Mexico—an integrative oncology clinic that focuses on strengthening the immune system and supporting the body’s natural ability to fight cancer. Their program combines advanced non-toxic therapies with conventional medical care and has helped many patients pursue healing in new ways.

My treatment is scheduled from April 15 through May 5 and includes three intensive weeks of therapy designed to strengthen my immune system and target the cancer more effectively.

The total cost for treatment, travel, and medical care is approximately $65,000.

If you feel led to help, a leadership-level gift would move us significantly closer to this goal. Some friends have already expressed interest in helping at the following levels:

  • $10,000 — helps sponsor a major portion of the treatment program
  • $5,000 — helps cover several days of intensive therapy
  • $2,500 — helps provide specialized treatments and immune therapies
  • $1,000 or more — helps fund critical medical protocols during the program
