The gypsy community of Tinca, Romania is one of the largest in our county with a population of over 1,500 gypsies. We planted our second church in this village and the church is growing strong with over 250 members now. From this church, other churches have been planted in the villages of Tasad, Cheriu, Osorhei and now in Calacea.
Many families in Tinca live in extreme poverty. They have large families and it's very difficult for them to find work in the nearby towns and villages. Unemployment is rampant due to illiteracy and lack of transportation. The nearest small city is 16 miles away and even there unemployment is high. Out of desperation, several adults have sought employment in other countries, abandoning their families. The grandparents are often left with the children to raise, and the overall lack of parental supervision has created a big problem with physical and sexual abuse.
Pathway to Joy built a youth center in Tinca to respond the harsh realities this generation of children and young people are facing in Tinca. The center accommodates over 400 people and offers youth activities, evangelistic meetings, Bible teaching and training. Our prayer is that one day the youth of this church will reach out to the entire southern part of the Bihor county with the Gospel!
We need to raise $15,000 to complete this building project and a monthly budget of $1,200/month to hire two full time children and youth workers.
Are you the instrument of hope God will use to impact whole villages here in Romania? Please pray and partner with us so we can encourage, disciple and train a new generation of young men and women that will fuel a spiritual revival in this part of Romania!
"Train up a child in the way he should go: and when he is old, he will not depart from it." Proverbs 22:6
